How to measure
- Measure her natural waist, the narrowest part above her tummy button, over a thin top.
- Keep the tape snug but not tight, and read it in inches.
- For a summer dress in an older size, measure round the fullest part of her chest.
- Find her size in the chart, or send the measurements to us on WhatsApp and we will check.

Which pinafore is easiest for a young child?
A zip front pinafore, such as the Zeco or Ayra zip front, or the Innovation stretch pinafore, which simply pulls on with no zips or buttons. The Banner Tenby fastens at the shoulder, which also makes dressing easier.
Should I choose a zip front or a bib pinafore?
Check what the school asks for first. A zip front pinafore is the quickest to put on. A bib pinafore has straps over the shoulders and is worn over a blouse or polo shirt, and the Innovation bib has adjustable straps to fine tune the fit.
What should she wear with a pinafore?
Most schools ask for a white blouse or polo shirt underneath, with tights or socks and a cardigan or jumper in the school colour. With a summer dress, matching gingham under shorts give an extra layer for play.
What size pinafore should I buy?
Choose her age size, then check the waist if the pinafore has one. If she is between sizes, go up one. Avoid buying much bigger to grow into, because a pinafore that is too long or loose looks untidy.
