Another lost jumper?
Let’s put a name on it.
Less rummaging through lost property. More school essentials finding their way home.
Stick-on labels, personalised designs and a few tips to make school mornings easier.
You bought it. You washed it. They wore it once. Now nobody knows where it is.
If you’ve ever stood over the school’s lost-property box trying to recognise your child’s navy jumper among twenty others, you’ll know the feeling. “Are you sure this one isn’t yours?” is rarely met with a confident answer.
A name label won’t stop a cardigan being left on a playground bench. But it gives whoever finds it a useful clue and gives you a better chance of seeing it again.
1. A whole uniform pile to label? Start here.
You don’t have to spend an evening sewing if that isn’t your thing. Stick-on clothing labels are a handy option for getting everything ready, while iron-on and sew-on styles give you other ways to name your kit.
Prefer something simple? Our own washable stickers do the job without fuss. Have a child with very definite opinions about colours and pictures? Let them explore the Easy2Name designs.
See each product page for current prices, pack sizes, personalisation options and application instructions.
2. The “have I labelled everything?” checklist
Lay out a school outfit, the PE kit and everything that goes in the bag. You’ll soon spot the things you nearly forgot.
The uniform pile
- Jumpers and cardigans
- Blazers, shirts and polos
- Trousers, skirts and dresses
- Coats and waterproofs
The PE bag
- PE tops and shorts
- Tracksuit bottoms
- Spare layers
- The bag itself
The everyday extras
- Book bags and backpacks
- Water bottles
- Lunch boxes
- Pencil cases
3. A few minutes now, less searching later
Check the name before you order
Follow your school’s guidance. A first name and surname is usually easier to identify than initials alone. Adding a class can help, but it may change next year. Your child’s name is the more lasting option.
Put the label in the right place
Some clothing stickers belong on the smooth care label rather than directly on the fabric. Follow the instructions for your chosen product, including any waiting time before the first wash.
Show your child where to look
Once everything is named, show them where their labels are. A quick check before packing up is easier than trying to work out whose jumper they brought home.
Keep a few spares handy
A bigger polo shirt after Christmas. A replacement bottle halfway through term. New things arrive all year, so keep spare labels somewhere easy to find and name each item before its first school day.
4. Quick answers for busy parents
How many labels will I need?
Count the individual items, including spare uniform and PE kit, then allow a few extra for replacements. It’s easy to underestimate once coats, bags and lunchtime essentials join the pile.
Can name labels go in the washing machine?
Our own washable stickers and Easy2Name clothing stickers are designed for machine washing. Follow the instructions for the particular labels you choose, including the recommended temperature and drying guidance.
Can I use the same stickers on bottles and clothing?
Our own washable name stickers are suitable for both clothing and belongings such as bottles and lunch boxes. For other products, check the listed uses first. Washing-machine suitability doesn’t automatically mean a label is dishwasher-safe.
Is it worth labelling things halfway through term?
Absolutely. You don’t have to wait until September to rescue the situation. Start with the things that get taken off or put down most often: jumpers, coats, PE kit and bottles.
Give that jumper a way home.
Simple stickers, colourful designs or traditional name tapes. Choose your labels, tackle the uniform pile and tick one more job off the list.
